Ready. Set. WRITE! Week 5

Ready. Set. WRITE! is a summer accountability series that is hosted by Jaime MorrowKaty UppermanAlison MilerErin Funk, and Elodie Nowodazkij. We set goals for the summer and check in weekly.

Happy July. I'm getting at this later than normal, so let's cut to the chase, shall we?

How I Did Last Week

  • Send out at least 5 more queries. Done and done and done. 15 total.
  • Work my way through Workshops 5 and 6 of PLANNING YOUR NOVEL. Done. I even started workshop 7.
  • Outline major plot points for PHOENIX RISING's sequel. So incredibly done. I have 50 plot cards waiting to become a shiny draft.
  • Read. I did this at least four times, which is great since the last 2 weeks reading has been nonexistent.
  • Get in at least 15 minutes of exercise daily. Eh. I walked an additional 15 minutes most days. That counts.

My Goal(s) For This Week

  • Send out at least 3 more queries.
  • Complete Workshop 8 of PLANNING YOUR NOVEL.
  • Read.
  • Figure out what is bothering me re: SCENES FROM LAST NIGHT so this can be fixed.
  • Walk every day, even if it's just to Dunkin and back.

One Word/Phrase That Sums Up What I Wrote/Revised

Excitement. I'm still excited about The SNI and the sequel to PHOENIX RISING so much that I *almost* signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo.

Biggest Challenge I Faced This Week

Myself. Even though I owned last week's goals, this weekend I couldn't get out of my own way. Though it wasn't all lost. I did see Terminator Genysis, which only marginally injured my brain.

Something I Love About My WIP

Since I plotted the PR sequel and had recently reread the first book, I love that i get to visit these characters again. I can't wait to see how the sequel plays out. Please share your insights below!

On an unrelated note to RSW, I'm thinking of how to maintain blogging once this is done and woul love some tips and suggestions on how I can maintain a schedule and have some interesting topics.
